About Care Lanes
Since we were young, we’ve been always very grateful that our grandparents have been able to communicate with us through English. Even though English was their second language, we had no problems talking with them. However, many of our friend’s immigrant grandparents couldn’t speak English with them, and could only understand and speak with their native tongue. So, we decided that we would like to provide the opportunity for others to be able to communicate freely using English.
We started our journey by teaching a senior English class at a local weekend language school. Over time, these services became popular among the immigrant senior community. So, they became more intricate. The weekend language school started multiple levels of English learning for immigrant seniors, and an additional class for English-speaking seniors to learn foreign languages. After a while, we also began teaching English at a retirement home. From these expansions, we saw the need for these types of services, and started Care Lanes.
