Our Newspaper Reading Club At Baldwin Oaks!

This class focuses on reading and discussing a newspaper written for ESL learners, Easy English NEWS.
We introduced a newspaper reading group/class to our Baldwin Oaks residents recently. In this class, everyone reads articles from the Easy English NEWS newspaper. Somebody would read in English, while we would translate for the residents to learn and understand the phrases.
The Easy English NEWS newspaper was made specifically for ESL learners. The sentences are short and consise, with a lot of interesting topics for peope of all ages. In every monthly issue of the newspaper, there is a section that contains short articles about holidays/festivals happening during the month. These articles are a fan-favorite to read. For exmaple, if we are reading a May issue, there would be an article on Memorial Day.
